August
In July we had virtually nothing on our calendar for August, then suddenly it was full and we have had a very busy, but enjoyable , month. Been out with the grandchildren, seen various friends, been on a couple of workshops. Then my grandson Alex cooked us a lunch at his other grandparents house and really nice it was to, well done Alex, photo of the sweet which was real yummee...
Last week went to Suffolk to see my mum who is really well at the moment and she went off to Mundesley on Friday so myself, Brian and sister Barbara went over to Harleston in Norfolk where me and her were born and had trip down memory lane, lovely day.
And I made cushion. One more week then we are off to Spain for three weeks, can't wait

had a lovely time in Hunstanton last Sunday staying over until Monday. My sister was there with her husband in their motorhome a nephew and girlfriend were in a caravan and two other nieces and great nieces and nephew were there, it was my brother-in-laws 60th so we went up and surprised them and I took the presents I had made for the children whose dad is so very ill and they were thrilled with them. Only one little blip, we were nearly there and I said to himself "you did put the case in didn't you" reply "what case" so there we were with only the clothes we stood up in and absolutely no toiletries, oh well thank goodness for Sainsburys...

Mollie-Jayne
Hello
My name is Mollie-Jayne and I am going over to Stowmarket in Suffolk to live with a little girl called Phoebe and am taking with me a notebook cover and notebook and a Grab Bag for her elder sister Millie and for her younger brother I shall be taking a cushion with a black and white cat and the name Rossi which is Ben's cat, these young children have not seen their daddy for a month as he is very poorly in hospital and I hope we can perhaps bring a little smile to their faces. Am sure there will be a photo of the cushion when it is done.

Back Home
Now back from a lovely warm and restful holiday in Greece and today I am looking forward to my sit and sew day at Poppy Patch, seems ages since I did any sewing. Weekend before we went away we had family BBQ for Brian's birthday and my eldest son brought his new puppy, Dottie, she is lovely and we also had the lovely Betty Boo and the two of them got on very well

Rainy Tuesday
Well at least we had a couple of nice days over the Bank Holiday but now back to wet and cold can't wait to get to the sunshine in Greece, 12 days to go but with the state of my knees especially the right one which also has ligament damage I will probably have to spend the two weeks under a brolly on a sunbed round the pool with a good book then struggle down to the restaurants in the evening, just have to do it!!!! See the specialist 2 days after we get back and am expecting to hear I need both knees replacing, perils of getting old. Anyway I am still sewing did a blanket for my son's new puppy, a brown labrador they have named Dottie and when my friend saw it she wanted one for her cat hence the one for Smudge then I did the wall hanging which I love. Also I now have two quilts, one lapsize which at the moment I am doing some hand applique on then a bed quilt then I am going to hand quilt them both, there's a brave statement......

House Group Day
I am blogging 2 days running hope you are all impressed. had a lovely day today our house group met at Margaret Williams house and what a lovely lunch she did, salmon, new potatos and salad followed by baked meringue trifle I think she called it anyway it was delicious. It wasn't till we were packing up I remembered I wanted to take some photos but got a couple, Ann Harris had to leave early and Helen wasn't able to make it today. I did lots of sewing and will put my photo on when finished the wall hanging. I have decided to get back into hand quilting as I am not desperate for any quilts so have the time to do it and it really is relaxing (don

Another Bag
I do not blog that often then when I do I do not seem to have much to put on but I have been busy sewing.
This week I made a bag, black and patterned the pattern is The New York Skyline I loved it as soon as I saw it and the bag was so simple to make, might have to do another one. When I was at Poppy Patch for sit and sew last week I made the mug rug and bag I did do other sewing as well! Sewing in mty workroom today was lovely with the sun streaming in and when I looked up i looked straight at the hanging basket with the lovely pansies in, hooray summer may just be on its way....

Another week
Where do the weeks go? I do not believe the saying that when we get older we do things at a slower pace, I think we are just doing so much more of the things we enjoy doing now we are retired, anyway we had a lovely walk over Irthlingborough meadows and lakes last week still needed the wellies but roll on summer!!!
Made another cushion for my grandson this time, just love the loose ears on the doggies and it is the absolute image of their dog. Also the green and cream piece was my project for Higham Piecemakers challenge, we had to blindly pick three paint color cards and make something matching fabric to the paint cards, quite challenging but enjoyable.
Well have just finished all the housework I am doing for today so can now go sew without guilt ....

am still sewing !!
I know it's been ages since I have blogged, but MrsG. that does not mean I have not done anything. We had a great month in Spain, missed all the snow but not away for this lot this weekend, but at least it was great to get some sun.
One very sad piece of news this year was the sudden death of Lynda Tanner, a lovely lady who will be sadly missed.
Have not been able to go to Hamtune and Parklands much this year as we have had alot going on and also I do not like turning out at night in the winter, must be getting old, but will be back when the spring eventualy arrives. I do go to Higham Piecemakers on a Monday afternoon as it is only 5minutes up the road from me. this past week I was really busy and made the tablemats for our everyday use, still have to put the binding on, the purseI did at Higham last week and it really is nice and easy to do, and the penguin cushion is a birthday present for my granddaughter and I loved doing it.
Hope you are all keeping warm and what a good excuse when the weather is like this to stay in and sew!!!
