Moved

Well we have finally moved in, getting straight but still unpacking boxes, we love our new home and just pleased to be settled before Xmas. I have vague memories of times past when I did sewing, but I expect those days will return, I am at the moment trying to sort out my new workroom, I think my new years resolution will be NOT TO BUY ANY FABRIC. No pics at the moment but a good evening was had by all last night at our Hamtune xmas meeting so do have a look on Hamtune's blog for the fun we had and pics. Wishing you all a merry christmas and a happy new year. I am actually in Spain for a month from early January so may not be back on blog until February.

Bedford Workday

What a great day was had by all at the workday over in Bedford on Monday. Several different projects were being done, table mats, runners, I did a table centrepiece also some christmas projects were being made. Many thanks to Annette and Sue for organising the day and thankyou for the photos Sue, I have spent the last 1/2 hour trying to put them on my blog but computer says 'NO' Look forward to the next workshop.. r est of this week is going to be spent thinking about Hamtunes show on Saturday and what has to be done especially after I had this dream the other night that it was Saturday and later in the day realised I had forgotten all about the show, Diana was not amused when I told her, anyway I am sure it will be a great success and an enjoyable day. Am forgetting that I am also trying to sort out my workroom and do packing for when we move hopefully in about 4 - 6weeks, for xmas I would just like 26hour days and eight day weeks

Hamtune Quilters were on tour again Sunday, this time we were at the Knitting and Stitching show at Alexandra Palace, fabulous day, personally this is my favourite venue with so many different craft stalls and once again the weather was fantastic. No problems with the journey this time lovely driver and as I told the coach company this morning there were 38 of us and the driver could have been toy boy to any one of us. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.

Halkidiki

Well we have been back from holiday a week now, had a fab time, the photo with what looks like little pears on it are actually olives biggest olives we have ever seen. The other tree is a pomegranet and guess who besides myself is on a diet now!!! Now we are back it is all systems go to get packed for moving but if BT does not get our phone line fixed, we have been without phone for seven days now, I swear I will break into one of their vans and have a nervous breakdown!!!

still here

Seems ages since I put something on my blog, last week we were away in Suffolk for a few days, actually we were house hunting in Lowestoft/Oulton Broad as we decided we would like to live on the coast then when we came back we had an offer on our house, it had been on the market five days, then I got cold feet about moving away from family and many friends and my groups so we have been busy house hunting here, at the moment Irthlingborough is looking good. I have also done a bit of sewing the little quilt for latest addition to family, Betty-Boo, her xmas pressie and also notebook covers matching for notebook and ringbinder file, another xmas pressie. We are off to Greece on Monday for 2 weeks, hopefully for some more sun, so the next posting will be when I am back and hopefully will have some news on our house moving. Also there are still a couple of tickets for the trip to Alexandra Palace show, Sunday October 9th. if anyone is interested they can contact me, I shall be back on the 3rd October or else Kathy Lee has details.

Busy week

Had a good day at Bedford Quilters yesterday. did a workshop with Diana and made a pretty notebook cover, then in the afternoon the speaker was Marion Maul with a talk on english samplers, very interesting. Today my son and family came over with the new addition to the family, a nine week old Jack Russel puppy named Betty-Boo, she is gorgeous and they hinted she would like her own little quilt for christmas!! Tomorrow I have early dental appointment then it is our housegroup day meeting at Ann Harris's so that will be a good day then Tuesday evening Hamtune Quilters then Wednesday we are off to Lowestoft and Oulton Broad for a couple of days, we love retirement.

New addition to family!!

I'm back

Been to our Wednesday Parklands sit and sew this morning and it was noted by certain members that I have not done my blog for a while, well I have been on holiday and unlike a certain pair I do not (yet) have an Ipad. Any way had an absolutely fab holiday staying with friends in a place called Alcosebbre about an hours drive north from Valencia, never been that area before and I must say it is beautiful, very green. It was very hot so spent quite a lot of time in pool and sea but we also went out and about quite a bit so now we are back home to the cold and back to normal but only for two weeks and then we are off to Greece for two weeks. I have made another bag in the few days have been back, another order from my mother for one of her friends I think she has more friends than me but now I am concentrating on doing the Saints quilt for my grandson for xmas and notebook covers for presents etc. Kathy you do come up as a white exclamation mark on orange background on my followers list but Diana now comes up with the photo from her blog, please do not ask me for explanation!!

postscipt

Forgot to say when we went to Aldburgh my sister, she is a quilter, and myself persuaded the men we should stop off in Wickham Market as it was supposed to be well worth a visit then we had to act so surprised when we parked in front of a quilt shop, Quilters Haven.

weekend

Had to leave the NEC a bit early to get home as we were going over to see my family in Suffolk for a few days and what a great weekend we had, not often seen sight of my sister in the pub with a cup of coffee, actually it was for my mum. Friday we went to Aldburgh the lovely seaside town time has forgotten, and long may it continue, I think my favourite photo is of the children sailing their small boats in the boating pond, then the dog who loves ice cream, I just love the Suffolk and Norfolk coast and am trying to talk my husband into moving back over there, don't think I am going to get anywhere. Saturday my son and his family came over so we could have a family reunion, which we try to do each year, we started off in a small village called Woolpit where my son was born and he likes to go back to have fish and chips, yummy they are too (I want to lose a stone before Thursday, ha ha dream on) then it was on to meet up with all the family, four generations then on Sunday, right out of the blue my nephew from New Zealand turned up so what an end to a great weekend. Now I have three days to starve before we go off to Spain on Thursday

Busy week

Thursday was the Quilt Show at the NEC, loved the quilts on display, some more more than others, wonderful demos going on and of course all the traders, bumping into people you haven't seen for ages and despite it being crowded and very hot in there it was a very enjoyable day

Looking Ahead

At last summer seems to have arrived which means I can sit in the garden and do some hand sewing but not until after the Grand Prix today. This week I have been looking forward to the end of the year, I have made my cushion for the cushion raffle at Hamtunes Autumn Fayre in October and also a bag for my Aunt's 65th birthday in November I only hope I can keep the momentum going to be ready for Xmas early, doubt it as I always seem to push Xmas to the back of my mind till about 15th December!! The cushion pattern was in July's P & Q magazine it's called Cathedral Window with an Origami Twist.

A Grand Day Out (Wallace and Grommit)

Yesterday we went to Market Harborough, had a mooch round, what a lovely place that is, then we went onto Foxton Locks, wow, 40years living in Northamptonshire and this is the first time we have been there, (but not the last) what a feat of engineering those ten canal locks are, we were fascinated so it was a good day out and today I must do some housework then some sewing.
